Pwani University has on Monday been close indefinitely following Student’s unrest.Students at the Coastal based University staged Morning demos in a bid to air their frustrations to the management which they accused of non-performance.
General Service Unit Officers were called into action and with that, a number of students were arrested as the rest went on rampage.
“Following the Students’ unrest and the subsequent damage caused to University Property, the University Senate in its meeting held on 14th October 2019 decided that the University be closed indefinitely with immediate effect,”
“All Undergraduate students are therefore required to vacate the University Premises by 6.00 PM latest today 14th October 2019”.
According to reports, the students went on rampage to protest a number of issues that include Lack of Academic Trips.
